History

Always moving forward!

Parkwood Green Primary School opened in 2004 with 130 students. Our school was officially opened by Hon Jacinta Allan MP. Since that time, our school has grown rapidly, and much has been achieved.

Our curriculum has constantly expanded to now include specialists for Visual Art, Physical Education, Music and Performing Arts, LOTE (Italian) and Library teachers. We also offer a host of support staff providing EAL, Language Support and Intervention programs.

Students benefit by having 1 to 1 access to iPads. Each classroom also has access to an LCD TV or Interactive Whiteboards.

An independent review was conducted of our school in 2007 by Mr Mike Rowland (National Curriculum Services) who gave a glowing report. In 2007 our new library was also opened by Senator Rod Kemp.

Our school achieved Performance & Development Culture Accreditation in 2008 with exceptionally high results.

Parkwood Green constructed its new synthetic sports fields in 2009, and completed construction on a new multi-million dollar open learning facility in 2011.

Our new indoor swimming pool is now home to the school's P-6 swimming program, and in 2015 we opened our new Kitchen building which is now used to run our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program in Years 3 & 4.
